Avery at 3!!!!

I have always heard that age 3 is much harder than 2 and we have experienced that in full force over the past month. Avery can be as sweet as can be and then she can be as whiny, bossy, strong willed, and challenging the next minute. We have really been challenged as parents in our discipline and trying to understand what this age 3 is all about. Knock on wood, over the past week she has done much better, but this is just the beginning I am afraid. Here are some pictures of Avery giving me her faces because she of course doesn't want to smile for the camera!

Picnic Time!

Now that Anna is really moving around, Avery sometimes loves her and sometimes complains she is touching her toys, in her space, bothering her, won't leave her alone, etc. This is a moment that they were having a picnic with the cookie cutters together!

So Avery may be the cook, but Anna is doing the eating so far. She is doing very well on transitioning to table food. This is when she tried turkey, cheese, and crackers for lunch. (Avery even ate turkey, cheese and crackers with us this day...I hope Anna will encourage Avery to eat a wider variety of choices) Anna also had lima beans tonight for dinner and enjoyed them.

Anna is really motoring around quite well. She is starting to pull to stand on things and even crawled up the first step tonight!

Anna on the Move!

As soon as Anna turned 10 months, she hit a big growth spurt. She started crawling the next day, pulling to tall kneeling, and in the past week has really started babbling. She is moving around quite well and said "Mama" for the first time today. After talking with First Steps, we are going to wait on her screening till a later date to determine if we really need them or not based on her developmental process later. Right now they may not pick her up and this would then mean she won't qualify for another assessment for 3 months.




Maybe this is why she wasn't moving...Avery laying on her!
