However, Tubby Smith had faults. Namely, recruiting, team cohesion, passion for coaching, and well...coaching. Basically put, a lot of schools would be happy with 25 losses in two seasons. At Kentucky, that doesn't cut it. A lot of schools would be happy with landing 2 and 3 star recruits, and trying to make those players superstars. At Kentucky, that doesn't cut it. A lot of other schools would be happy with premature defections for chemistry issues (e.g. Crawford, Morris' fax). At Kentucky, well, you get the idea.
Kentucky basketball is the pinnacle. It is the mecca. It is the Roman Empire of college basketball. And, Kentucky got its Camelot.
For all intents and purposes, if you are a fan of Kentucky basketball, you should be excited about this move.
